Intensive Moscow's Assaults Cut Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to drinking water, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and applying penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets targeted the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were preparing for further attacks.
